Biography
Gerardo L. Blanco is associate professor of Higher Education and academic director of the Center for International Higher Education. His research explores the intersections of quality and internationalization in higher education with a focus on accreditation, rankings and international assessments. He is editor in chief of the Journal of Studies in International Education, coordinating editor of Higher Education, and consulting editor of Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning.
His research has been published in leading journals, such as Higher Education, Studies in Higher Education, the Comparative Education Review, and the Review of Higher Education. Gerardo has held leadership roles in the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), and the Association for the Study of Higher Education's (ASHE) Council for International Higher Education. He has received awards and honorable mentions for research from the Comparative and International Education Society鈥檚 Higher Education SIG and from the ASHE Council on International Higher Education.
