Community

Boston College welcomes parents and families as vital members of our campus community. Whether attending a campus Mass, enjoying student performances in the arts, cheering at athletic events, or joining us for Family Weekend, there are many opportunities to engage in the life of the University. We believe that fostering a strong sense of community and a shared sense of purpose helps all students thrive.

Coordination

When a student is facing challenges, Boston College coordinates support by consulting with concerned individuals, including parents and families, and collaborating across departments to respond with care. Our team gathers relevant information, assesses needs, and connects students with appropriate resources, such as University Counseling Services, academic advising, or Campus Ministry.

Communication

Parents and families can stay informed through the Vice President for Student Affairs Parent Newsletter, social media updates, podcasts, mailings, and YouTube channel. These touchpoints offer insights into student life, upcoming events, and timely information about campus programs and resources.

Consultation

Families are welcome to reach out for guidance at any time. Staff across campus, from the Office of the Dean of Students to Financial Aid and beyond, are available to consult with parents and assist them in navigating concerns. We work in partnership with families to support students' well-being, growth, and success throughout their time at Boston College.
